My late grandfather lived to a ripe old age.  Generaly he was healthy and active till the very end.  But in one area, he did show his age.  That area was hearing - my poor grandfather was very, very hard of hearing.

I know that it is expected for older peiple to suffer some loss of facilities.  But not bveing able to hear well was quite problematic for the old man.  Even the relatively simple matter of hearing and answering the phone ring caused problems.  Luckly he had a Hearing Impaired Phone to help him perform this function.

The really sad thing is that my grandfather died soon after my grandmother.  I think it was a case of a broken heart.
